Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know about paying with Remitran. Simple answers to your questions about security, transactions, and more.

General Questions

Remitran is a cross-border payment service that allows Indian users to make instant payments in Thailand by scanning PromptPay QR codes using their existing UPI apps (like BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe). It eliminates the need for currency exchange kiosks or forex cards.

No, you do not need a Thai bank account. Remitran acts as a bridge. You simply use your Indian bank account linked to UPI to pay, and the merchant in Thailand receives the payment directly into their PromptPay account in Thai Baht.

Signing up for Remitran is completely free. We charge a small, transparent convenience fee on each transaction, which is shown to you before you confirm the payment. There are no hidden monthly charges.

Transactions

We offer real-time, competitive exchange rates that are often better than airport kiosks. The rate is locked in the moment you scan the QR code, so you know exactly how much INR will be deducted from your account.

Yes, currently there is a daily transaction limit of THB 20,000, as per our internal policy. Single transaction limits may also depend on your specific bank’s UPI settings.

If a transaction fails but money is deducted, it is usually reversed instantly. In rare cases of merchant refunds, it may take 5-7 business days for the amount to reflect back in your Indian bank account.

Security

Absolutely. Remitran uses end-to-end encryption for all data. We do not store your UPI PIN or banking passwords. All transactions are authenticated directly by your bank via the NPCI network.

Your Remitran account is secured by your device's biometrics and your UPI PIN. Even if you lose your phone, no one can make a payment without your PIN. We recommend contacting our support team at support@remitranglobal.com to temporarily freeze your account for peace of mind.
